I met Sylvia Dean when I was on my Avon run in 2013. I knocked on her door to ask for her book, from then on we always spoke even if it was only for a little while. Then, she told me about her life and the wonderful stories she had to tell. Every time I saw her she would always make me a cup of tea and biscuits of course. We would sit there for few hours talking about our lives. I knew that I had to capture her connection with her family.

 

Through photographs she had of her family I included them into her portraits and have her write even if it was a few words the one thing she feels or a quote that links to that family member or members. The end results of this project, I created a book called: 'My Lovely Family - Sylvia Dean'.
